Super Duty has been offered unchanged except for the two new options i.e. a rear view camera and LED warning strobe lights. It is unlike the F-150 that was offered last year in a complete redesign form. Minor changes have been offered in the 2016 Ford Super Duty. This means that it is the oldest truck in the segment and does not have many of the re-designed features as there were in F-150. However, looking at the fact that it has been around since many years, there are several good features in this heavy-duty truck.
2016 Ford Super Duty – Exterior and Interior Design
The 2016 Ford Super Duty is seen to be getting long in tooth as compared to its rivals. For instance, the 2016 Nissan Titan XD is one of the new trucks that bridge the capability gap between the light and heavy duty trucks with V8 diesel. Similarly the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD also underwent an extensive makeover that led it to an improved interior and updated style of the body. Last but not the least Ram 2500 has come up to be a noteworthy competitor with refined ride, higher and attractive quality cabin with excellent towing capacity. Also the 16,600 pounds with diesel engine comes with a wide array of trim levels and body styles. These range from no frills regular cab trucks to top of the line four door crew cab models that are packed with luxury, technology features and convenience. Downside to all the amenities is the bottom line of the window sticker.
2016 Ford Super Duty – Engine and Performance
If we look at the 2016 Ford Super Duty , it is quieter on the road as it is expected to be. For a heavy duty truck like this, the quality of ride is decent. One of the major weaknesses of the vehicle is its vague steering wheel that is annoying for everyday driving. Plenty of power is offered by the 6.2-liter gasoline engine as well as with the recently updated 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine. The six speed automatic transmission enables the driver to lock the higher gears in situation where there is a steep grade. Strength has been offered with a 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine. It has been updated last year in order to boost up the power to 440 horsepower and offer torque of 860 pound. Also there is a 6.2 –liter gasoline V8 engine offered in 2016 Ford Super Duty F-250. Towing capacity has been kept robust with both the types of engines i.e. 16,600 pounds with diesel engine and 15,900 pounds with gasoline engine.
